The Spiritual Life

Thanks for checking out my blog.  All posts are inspired by where my spiritual life is taking me. They are written to inspire and remind myself to apply spiritual tools to my everyday experience, but I have a feeling you will find something useful here too...
Ask a Question

First, the Internal Shift.

In one way or another, to one degree or another, we are all seeking change.  There is always something that can be upleveled.  The difficulty is that so much of our attention and focus is on the external world that we tend to look “out there” for the change and work exclusively “out there” as well.  However, no external change can happen without an internal shift.

Everything about your life is the way it is now is because you have the consciousness for it.  The sum total of your thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and actions set the energetic level on which you function.  You can only have things that also function on that level.  If you function on a level (random, meaningless number) 7, then everything in your experience will also be at a level 7.  Lets use the example of a car.

In our hypothetical situation our imagined person (lets call him Bob) functions on a level 7.  His car is a 5 year-old used car with 75,000 miles on it.  Level 7 cars are all about 5 years old and all have about 75,000 miles.  If Bob wants to get a brand new car, which is at a level 8, Bob will need to make the internal shifts to raise his vibration to an 8 as well.

If Bob only does the external work to find a level 8 car, he will be very frustrated with his efforts.  If, while looking at level 8 cars, Bob does the internal work necessary to raise his vibration, his efforts will meet with success once his vibration matches that of the car he wants.  This is a very simplistic example, but we have all heard stories of people who have bought a much nicer car than they used to have only to wreck it shortly after.

So, whatever the changes you are seeking to make in your life are, pay attention to your experience while you go about doing the physical world work.  Are you feeling frustrated most of the time?  If so, look at those frustrations.  They are likely indicators that you are not a match for what you are trying to grow into internally yet.  They will also show you exactly what the limiting beliefs or judgments are that are keeping you feeling stuck.  Once you know where your internal working ground is, go joyfully to work.  The growth you receive from doing so will not only help align you with your desire, but will stay with you long after you have let go of that desire for another.
